PROMPT NZ Limited (weusour) complies with the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020 (the Act) when dealing with personal information. Personal information is information about an identifiable individual (a natural person).

This policy sets out how we will collect, use, disclose and protect your personal information, including the personal information you record in your PROMPT account at www.prompt.world (Website).

We may update this policy from time to time, by uploading a revised policy onto the website at www.prompt.world (Website). The change will apply from the date that we upload the revised policy.

Who we collect your personal information from

  • third parties where you have authorised this or the information is publicly available. If possible, we will collect personal information from you directly.

We will use your personal information:

  • to market our services and products to you, including contacting you electronically (e.g. by text or email for this purpose);

  • your lawyer as nominated by you within your PROMPT account;
  • your Personal Representatives as nominated within your PROMPT account, for example the executor of your Will or an attorney under an enduring power of attorney;
  • our third party payment facilitator ‘STRIPE’ (which is based in Ireland/America) for the purposes of collecting payment from you;
  • any business that supports our services and products, including any person that hosts or maintains any underlying IT system or data centre that we use to provide the Website or other services and products (who shall be subject to confidentiality contracts with us);
  • a credit reference agency for the purpose of credit checking you;
  • other third parties (for anonymised statistical information only);
  • a person who can require us to supply yourpersonal information (e.g. a regulatory authority);
  • any other person authorised by the Act or another law (e.g. a law enforcement agency);
  • any other person authorised by you;
  • a business that supports our services and products may be located outside New Zealand. This may mean your personal information is held and processed outside New Zealand.

Protecting your personal information

We will take reasonable steps to keep your personal information safe from loss, unauthorised activity, or other misuse.

It is your responsibility to ensure your password strength and security are maintained. We recommend regularly updating your password.

Accessing and correcting your personal information

It is your responsibility to provide accurate information within your PROMPT account. If you wish to correct any mistake you have made entering your personal information, we encourage you to do so as soon as possible by accessing your PROMPT account and requesting the amendment.

Storing your personal information

Any personal information you provide to us may be stored on the secure servers of our trusted service providers, which may be located outside New Zealand. This may involve the transfer of your personal information to countries that have less legal protection for personal information than New Zealand.

Deleting your personal information

If you choose to cancel or delete your account, all of your personal information will be deleted from our database within a reasonable time, and we will cease to hold that information once it is deleted. The only exception to this will be if there are outstanding payments owing to PROMPT – in this case your information will be held for 3 months in order to restore payment through email notifications. If payment is not restored within that time the account and it’s information will be deleted.

Deleting your account means your information cannot be restored if you later wish to create an account again.

Disclosure of your personal information to PROMPT Partners

If your PROMPT subscription is held by one of our PROMPT Partners, it is assumed that this Partner (Law firm) holds your current Will and hence your personal information will be disclosed to this Partner so that they can readily access your PROMPT account to better services your needs.

If you wish to remove the Partners access to your PROMPT account, please email us at  hello@prompt.world.

Internet use

We will take all reasonable steps to maintain secure internet connections and implement 2-step verification methods to ensure your identity and privacy and help mitigate any risk.

Our privacy policy only applies to our Website. Should you follow any link to another site, the owner of that site will have its own privacy policy relating to your personal information. We suggest you review that site’s privacy policy before you provide personal information.

Cookies

We use cookies (an alphanumeric identifier that we transfer to your computer’s hard drive so that we can recognise your browser) to monitor your use of the Website. You may disable cookies by changing the settings on your browser, although this may mean that you cannot use all of the features of the Website.
